從幫派到花園探索健康和園藝作為社區的出口

年輕人在哪裡可以找到積極的出路並支持他們的社區? Growing and cultivating vegetables, says Dr. Ietef “DJ Cavem” Vita.   From Gangs to Gardens details DJ Cavem’s journey from dodging a gang lifestyle as a child in Denver, Colorado to fronting the movement to inspire children by combining hip-hop and eco-friendliness. This artist, activist, educator and vegan chef has performed at the Obama White House and was featured on the Rachel Ray Show. 電影 reveals the different experiences which led DJ Cavem to begin this groundbreaking movement and all the aspects of artistry, community outreach, and activism which define it.

Directed and produced by JLove Calderon, From Gangs To Gardens was curated for the Planet Classroom Network by SIMA Classroom and can be screened on the Planet Classroom YouTube Channel this month (embed link). Calderon brings the audience into the community of Five Points in Denver, and shows us how DJ Cavem combines eco-friendliness and growing healthy food as a way to support his community. Cavem works closely with communities both in classrooms and hip-hop festivals, showing kids the value of growing and appreciating fresh green produce.

在哪裡 From Gangs To Gangs succeeds is putting faces to the movement created by DJ Cavem. It proves that positive change can exist against any odds and in surprising ways. This film is both a useful tool for educators and young people alike, for it will surely inspire viewers to begin similar programs in their own communities. This film was deeply enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is passionate about the planting of seeds in soil as well as in communities.

我給這部電影 4 出 5 星星.
