Mr Moore’s Gift Christmas Film Review

By Rhea Mursalin

Mr. Moore’s Gift is an imaginative holiday short that leans heavily on nostalgia and charm. Directed by Adam Senior and written by Non Vaughan-O’Hagan, the film creates a cozy atmosphere, transporting a modern child into the world of Clement Clarke Moore. Through Maggie’s journey, brought to life by Skye Sconier alongside performances from Scott Bolger, Afua Busia, and Tom Moynahan, the story unfolds with warmth and gentle magic. The seasonal storytelling is where the film shines most in its tone.

The blending of historical fiction with fantasy offers a warm feeling for audiences, making it especially suitable for children and families. It invites viewers to experience the story rather than simply watch it.

As a short-form holiday piece, it succeeds in capturing a sense of wonder while gently introducing the origins of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, making it both engaging and educational.
