A Farm That Heals Lives

By Alex Silverman

Permanent Culture, directed by Levi Stroud, is a moving portrait of how sustainable farming can restore not only land but people. The film centers on Palos Farm in Kisumu, Kenya, where Joseph—once earning less than a dollar a day cutting sugarcane—finds new life working with nature instead of against it. His transformation is personal, practical, and profound. With cinematography by Danielle Davis and editing by Lesa Dowdy, the film visually reflects Joseph’s journey with warmth and clarity. Produced by Sam Robbins and Actuality Abroad, Permanent Culture educates and inspires.
