ArtLifting: Giving Voice to Hidden Artists

 By Serena Wooten

ArtLifting – Empowering Homeless and Disabled Artists, produced by Izzy Martinelli, tells the powerful story of Liz Powers and her mission to uplift marginalized artists by promoting their work for profit.

Rather than focusing on “starving artists,” the film challenges stereotypes, shedding light on how disability and homelessness intersect and how art can empower and redefine narratives.

The film inspired me to reflect on my own assumptions and highlighted the value of community in addressing big issues like homelessness.

Art becomes a powerful tool of visibility, identity, and change.
