Maybe Happy Ending: Love, Loneliness, and Robots on Stage

By Rhea Mursalin

Maybe Happy Ending, created by Jack DeWitt, is a thought-provoking video review and tribute to the Broadway musical about love, memory, and connection in a futuristic world. The musical follows two helper robots—Oliver (Darren Criss) and Claire (Helen J Shen)—who form an unlikely bond while living out their days in retirement. With footage from show promos, DeWitt’s video brings attention to the musical’s bold staging, emotional storytelling, and heartfelt performances. Directed by Michael Arden, with a book by Hue Park and Will Aronson, and music and lyrics by Aronson and Park, this production proves that even machines can reveal something deeply human.

⭐ Rating: 5 out of 5 stars – A soulful, beautifully staged story that blends heart with innovation.
