Mozart B-flat Sonata: A Melodic Masterclass

By: Serena Wooten

Mozart’s Sonata in B-flat Major, arranged by Peter Serkin, is part of The Mozart Project, which seeks to bring the classical works of Wolfgang Mozart to life. The performance presented in this film is spectacular, the musicians flowing through the movements of Adagio, Allegro, and Molto Presto seamlessly.

From light and playful to soft and melodic, this is a performance that does great justice to Mozart’s compositions and would be a great introduction for anyone looking to get into music or learn about Mozart. However, I did walk away from this film feeling that, while the music left me entranced from beginning to end, this is a performance that is best experienced live in order to fully appreciate the famous composer’s work of art.
