Hide! Shows That Children Can Outsmart Monsters

By Julian Cao

Directed by Matt Streeter, who plays the monster, and starring Olivia and Ava Streeter as the two little girls, Hide! is undoubtedly a fun, memorable family project.

The premise of Hide! is simple: Two little girls are haunted by a menacing monster around the house, and they do their best to hide from it. They squeeze into dark, cramped nooks, such as the attic and the bottom of the stairs, to evade the monster.

Hide! defies expectations when it demonstrates the girls’ resourcefulness and tight-knit bond. They are not merely running away from the monster; they are actively fending it off together. For instance, they carefully perform a countdown to when they should slam the garage door down on the monster’s hand, and they tip over a basket of laundry on the stairs to trip the monster.

The girls’ ingenuity proves that children can most certainly outsmart even the most persistent of monsters.

I would give this film 3.5/5.
