What Ukrainian Artists Do During the War is a short documentary style film from Ukrainian producer Anna Shulha that focuses on the activism of artists in Ukraine who are not serving their country in combat. Instead, these creators focus on methods that help their country and utilize their unique creative talents. Using art, 3D modeling, and photography, artists are preserving their country’s cultural heritage by producing artworks that present their country in a positive and creative way.
This film by Shulha highlights a few of the ways that Ukrainians have made an impact. One of these projects is Skeiron, an initiative to three dimensionally map historical landmarks. This allows people to not only explore and study the beauty of Ukraine from all around the world, but also to potentially reconstruct the buildings given the unfortunate events of war.
In a succinct video, producer Anna Shulha does a wonderful job tying in multiple ways that people can help their community in Ukraine, giving credence to the idea that love always prevails. This short documentary serves as an important reminder to Ukrainains and everyone abroad that war cannot stop humans from spreading love.
