Ce mois, le public peut diffuser Net Zero Speaks with Christine Lins, le dernier ajout à la célèbre série de vidéos et de podcasts Net Zero organisée par le mouvement Protect Our Planet et Planet Classroom.

Net Zero Speaks with Christine Lins is hosted by Andrea Garcia. In the new episode, Andrea engages with Christine Lins, Executive Director at GWNET, to discuss pressing topics like fast-tracking the energy transition, evolving climate finance, and integrating nature into climate action. Ensemble, they offer valuable insights and explore innovative solutions for a greener future.

La recherche globale pour l'éducation is pleased to welcome Andrea Garcia.

Andrea, why did you decide to interview Christine Lins? Qu'est-ce qui t'a inspiré chez elle?

I think it is very important to include everyone in the fight for climate change; we all have something to contribute or work on. Christine Lins is an excellent representative of this idea, that we all have to participate to have a better planet.

What inspired me most about Ms. Lins is that, in addition to being one of the most important figures in the energy transition field, she also decided to create a space for other women to join this one. As women, we know that we can face discrimination, especially in the scientific field, and having such an important organization supporting you is key to the professional development of so many women and, bien sûr, the advancement of the sustainable energy transition.

What surprised you most about your interview?

I think I was surprised that although the interview focused on ecological, politique, and economic issues that are key to the near future of our planet, specifically how our world and society run on energy, the interview itself was enjoyable and exciting. Probably because, après tout, interviews are one of the things I like most about my career as a journalist. And also because Christine Lins is a very good interviewee and she also has a very pleasant aura around her. But since she is a leading figure in her area and these are important and serious issues, many people would expect a more serious way of proceeding. I think this shows how good communication and attitude can make conversations about such complex topics flow more easily. En outre, I hope this has inspired other young leaders who may be hesitant to join this Net Zero project, as this is an extremely enriching experience.

Que sont les 3 main takeaways for the Net Zero audience from your interview?

We need to do more. As individuals, it is important to educate ourselves, to participate in the action that will lead us to impactful changes. En outre, we need to demand more from our political and economic leaders so they can trace a path to a net zero future.

The energy transition sector is key for our global economic crisis because of the number of jobs and opportunities it creates. There are many projects out there that are ready to change the world, and you can see some of them on the GWNET website.

To be able to achieve our goals, we need to believe it is possible. Even though Christine Lins said that we are not near achieving our goals, she is optimistic. Hope and imagination are powerful tools for the construction of our future.

Merci, Andrea!
