Sometimes when people look in the mirror they don’t see the person that they want to be – they see a false image that doesn’t represent their reality. For people who feel this way, being the person they want to be often means facing ridicule and judgment from society. In the animated short film Törött baba, the main character faces this stressful and emotional problem. The film takes us through their journey to become who they truly are. A young teenager enjoys figure skating and dresses, but dressing differently creates harassment from his peers and society in general. This feeling of not being able to express oneself causes the teen to be broken inside. But one day, enough is enough, and the teen wears his beautiful dress, and when they look in the mirror, a smile is finally seen.
